Transmission Line Engineer, Level 5

📋 Description

• Develop and implement advanced engineering techniques, concepts, and strategies to tackle complex and unique engineering challenges.

• Provide technical leadership to a diverse team of engineering, technical, and administrative personnel.

• Consult with executive-level clients and internal stakeholders regarding significant decisions.

• Stay updated on and apply client design guidelines and standards.

• Offer guidance on departmental standards, policies, and procedures.

• Create, revise, and maintain departmental standards, policies, and processes.

• Implement and oversee Owner Quality Assurance programs in alignment with the Commonwealth program.

• Ensure adherence to the company's quality program.

• Establish quality-related processes and foster a culture focused on quality.

• Guide others in maintaining and enhancing quality.

• Lead initiatives for continuous improvement and change management.

• Engage with clients regarding project objectives, status updates, interests, and drivers.

• Identify future client needs and suggest Commonwealth services accordingly.

• Lead internal project teams and clients, including conducting site visits and project execution reviews.

• Assist business development efforts by providing technical information for sales proposals.

• Coordinate work details among internal and external multidisciplinary teams.

• Oversee project schedules, tasks, sequencing, scope, budgets, and technical elements.

• Drive knowledge management and processes for knowledge transfer.

• Establish project work plans.

• Identify technical skill gaps and formulate mitigation plans.

• Influence resource strategies and plans for projects.

• Assist with contract administration and project management responsibilities.

• Accurately complete expense reports and timesheets.

• Implement and communicate policies, procedures, and processes for workgroups.

• Develop multidisciplinary project scope-of-work packages.

• Evaluate costs, productivity, and competitiveness.

• Monitor project scope and aid in the development of change proposals.

• A minimum of 15 years of relevant work experience demonstrating continuous growth and knowledge enhancement.

• Proficient knowledge of client design guidelines and standards.

• Expertise in the Commonwealth Associates quality program and associated quality standards.

• Experience in designing and overseeing technical aspects of projects.

• Experience in providing technical guidance and mentorship.

• Resource planning and management experience across multiple disciplines and large, complex projects.

• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering, technical, and administrative teams.

• Strong ability to interact with executive-level clients and internal stakeholders.

• Capability to coordinate project scope, schedules, budgets, tasks, and sequencing effectively.

• Ability to make project engineering execution decisions within applicable policies, standards, guidelines, and contractual commitments.

• Competence in developing project scope-of-work packages that encompass scope, schedule, and budget considerations.

• Ability to assess costs, productivity, and competitiveness.

• Ability to monitor project scope and recognize scope increases or changes.

• Proficient in accurately completing expense reports and timesheets in a timely manner.
