Transmission Line Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create cost-efficient, dependable, and feasible designs for high-voltage transmission lines.

• Execute transmission routing, select conductors, determine structure placements, develop plans and profiles, and conduct material takeoffs.

• Assist in the design of structures and foundations while employing PLS-CADD and other engineering software.

• Prepare and evaluate engineering drawings, design documents, specifications, and project outputs.

• Ensure that designs meet relevant NESC, IEEE, ASCE, ACI, ANSI, and project-specific standards.

• Conduct and assist with constructability reviews for transmission lines.

• Track engineering progress to align with project timelines, budgets, and client expectations.

• Offer technical support and coordination to engineers, designers, and project team members.

• Act as a representative for Engineering in internal meetings and collaborate with Sales, clients, project management, and other departments.

• Assist with proposals, cost estimates, client discussions, site visits, and construction-related tasks as required.

• Travel occasionally to project sites, client meetings, and other locations as necessary.

• Undertake additional responsibilities to support project and departmental goals.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.

• At least 5 years of practical experience in transmission line engineering and design.

• Experience in an EPC environment is preferred.

• In-depth knowledge of overhead transmission line engineering and design.

• Experience in transmission routing, conductor selection, structure placement, plan/profile development, and material takeoffs.

• Familiarity with transmission structure and foundation design.

• Proficient in PLS-CADD or comparable transmission design software.

• Knowledge of NESC, IEEE, ASCE, ACI, and ANSI standards.

• Strong grasp of transmission line constructability and construction methodologies.

• Capability to interpret and create engineering drawings and technical documentation.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication abilities.

• Capacity to work autonomously and effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
