Training & Development Specialist – Wholesale Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Drive wholesale sales, enhance service levels, and boost brand recognition within a designated territory.

• Educate, coach, and develop wholesale account associates and management teams.

• Build relationships with Area Managers, Store Managers, District Managers, Buying teams, and internal Wholesale, Visual, and Retail Operations stakeholders.

• Create and implement strategies for store visit cadences to maximize sales while minimizing travel costs.

• Compile reports on store visits and analyze metrics with account management teams.

• Address in-store issues and provide training to associates and department managers to prevent future occurrences.

• Collaborate with Retail Management teams to identify opportunities for improving district sales and inventory turnover.

• Analyze district performance metrics, including jewelry penetration, newness ST%, clienteling, certifications, and Specialist dashboard metrics.

• Provide training, coaching, ongoing support, brand messaging, and uphold brand standards across distribution points.

• Meet shipment goals and account retail sales plans.

• Enhance service levels and promote brand-defining behaviors.

• Increase items per customer metrics to 2.0 or higher in covered stores.

• Build associate confidence and expertise with service equipment, brand, and product knowledge.

• Assist account teams in attracting new customers through clienteling.

• Elevate brand awareness in wholesale markets beyond James Avery’s core retail footprint.

• Conduct Retail Management training seminars.

• Provide insights and feedback to the Wholesale Visual, Creative & Training Manager and Field Team Supervisor.

• Ensure the execution of visual merchandising standards and train associates on visual directives and plan-o-guides.

• Capture and share before/after photos and utilize graphics applications as necessary.

• Lead shop-in-shop and new store setups within the territory and assist colleagues with these setups.

• Review competitors to enhance assortments, training, branding, and merchandising.

• Provide administrative support for the wholesale sales channel.

• Prepare and present documents using Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Complete monthly expense reports.

• Monitor store deliveries to and from distribution centers and corporate offices.

• Collect photos of tests conducted in selected stores.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in sales, marketing, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in retail leadership.

• Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities.

• Proven ability to present and engage effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels.

• Strong leadership and collaboration skills.

• Capability to build positive business partnerships and maintain a constructive demeanor in challenging situations.

• Experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

• Effective problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.

• Ability to learn new systems that support Sales & Marketing activities.

• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

• Basic proficiency in Excel, including spreadsheet input, arithmetic functions, SUM, and managing rows and columns.

• Must reside within the assigned territory, near a national airport, and within 20 miles of at least one wholesale account.

• Willingness to travel up to 80%+ with overnight stays from Monday to Thursday.

• Availability to work during key retail holidays or events as required by business needs.

• Preferred: 1 year of experience as a James Avery Assistant Store Manager or similar retail experience.

• Preferred: Fashion-savvy with knowledge of fashion market trends and styles.

• Preferred: Solid understanding of retail math with the ability to utilize sales metrics for insights and action plans.

• Preferred: Experience with budgets and expense reconciliation.

• Preferred: Intermediate proficiency in PowerPoint with experience in building and presenting presentations.

• Preferred: Intermediate or advanced Excel proficiency, including spreadsheet design, linking, data sorting, advanced formulas, pivot tables, and charts.

• Preferred: Willingness to relocate as the Wholesale business expands.
