This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +1 more state.
• Provide support to federal agencies such as the U.S. EPA and NIEHS, along with state agencies and private-sector clients.
• Prepare reports evaluating the human health effects of various pollutants.
• Analyze scientific and peer-reviewed literature related to environmental risk assessment topics.
• Integrate scientific findings and convey them through written reports, websites, visual presentations, and other media formats.
• Oversee and visualize extensive datasets, creating visual representations and dashboards.
• Execute study data extraction utilizing electronic systematic review tools and procedures.
• Perform data and statistical analyses.
• Engage in scientific workshops by taking notes, preparing workshop summary reports, and handling event logistics.
• Adhere to standardized QA/QC protocols for documents and reports.
• Carry out toxicology systematic review responsibilities, including literature screening, evaluating study quality, and extracting study data.
• Assist in the development of risk assessment reports by composing methods, results, and discussion sections.
• Evaluate data-based conclusions and compile findings into weight-of-evidence analyses.
• Conduct dose-response analyses as required.
• Collaborate on multiple projects with team members across all levels.
• A Master’s degree in Toxicology, Epidemiology, Public Health, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field, or a Bachelor’s degree in these areas combined with equivalent experience.
• At least 4 years of relevant experience.
• Proficient data-science skills, with a background in managing and visualizing large datasets.
• Outstanding research and scientific writing capabilities, including editing, familiarity with reference management software such as EndNote, and proofreading skills.
• Strong qualitative and quantitative skills in data collection, analysis, and visualization.
• Experience with environmental science systematic reviews is advantageous.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop and deliver presentations.
• Capability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and work independently, in teams, and remotely under tight deadlines.
• Proficiency with Excel, Access, R, SAS, Python, SQL, VBA, and/or other relevant software.
• Ability to engage with clients, provide project updates, and cultivate professional relationships.
