This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Engage in yearly discussions regarding benefits strategy and provide recommendations for new benefits and modifications to existing plan coverage.
• Oversee the open enrollment process, which includes creating benefit guides, managing benefit renewals, conducting vendor meetings, presenting to employees, and compiling enrollment reports.
• Evaluate leave requests and collaborate with local HR Partners to make approval or denial decisions.
• Reconcile weekly 401(k) payroll deductions with reports from retirement vendors.
• Manage transitions between benefit vendors and onboard new vendors, including setting up and testing plans in Workday.
• Complete annual filings such as RxDC, healthcare 5500, and CMS submissions.
• Ensure that Workers Compensation posters are current at all locations.
• Distribute annual Medicare Part D creditable coverage notifications to employees and retirees.
• Maintain annual benefit limits and rates within Workday.
• Collaborate with HR Business Partners, Payroll, and third-party consultants on updates to Workday benefits.
• Assist with benefits audits and address inquiries from auditors.
• Oversee the 409A plan's open enrollment process and update Workday with deferral elections and eligibility information.
• Conduct in-depth benefits analysis and research to uncover trends, opportunities, and best practices.
• Act as a subject matter expert, offering recommendations on complex HR benefits matters.
• Stay informed about trends in the benefits industry and changes in regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Ability to juggle multiple competing priorities while meeting deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Capability to manage relationships with benefit vendors.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with the Workday system or a quick aptitude for learning new HRIS systems.
• Knowledge of federal and state regulations.
• Ability to manage large-scale projects and track progress effectively.
• High degree of integrity and confidentiality.
• A mindset geared towards process improvement.
• Understanding of employee benefits packages.
• Proficient in creating and manipulating reports in Excel.
