This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Conduct research and analysis on emerging malware and cyber threats to assess their impact on clients.

• Investigate malware throughout the entire attack lifecycle to ensure that Falcon effectively detects and mitigates threats at each stage.

• Examine data from various internal and external sources to differentiate real threats from irrelevant information.

• Determine detection shortcomings and collaborate with engineering teams to enhance CrowdStrike's protective measures.

• Assist in external security testing and certification initiatives such as AV-Test, AV-Comparatives, and SE Labs.

• Carry out technical investigations of newly identified threats and suggest detection and prevention strategies.

• Collaborate with Threat Research, Engineering, Red Team, and Machine Learning teams to convert research into product enhancements.

• Aid in designing and refining automation processes to minimize manual tasks and expedite threat analysis.

• Convey technical findings to engineering and response teams effectively.

• Contribute to the advancement of Falcon through malware research, automation, AI, and machine learning.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.

• Over 4 years of experience in threat research, particularly in malware analysis.

• Proficient in reverse engineering file-based malware, exploits, and various attack methods.

• Solid understanding of disassembly and structured programming concepts.

• Extensive knowledge of at least one major operating system and its internal workings.

• Strong grasp of the adversary kill chain and attacker behaviors.

• Experience employing red team methodologies to verify defensive measures.

• Proven ability to collaborate with engineering teams to translate research into production capabilities.

• Capability to create small automation or scripting projects.

• Demonstrated experience using AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and achieve business objectives.

• GIAC Reverse Engineering Malware (GREM) and Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) certifications are preferred.

• Experience in contributing to public security testing programs is advantageous.

• Familiarity with large datasets and tools such as Splunk, Elasticsearch, or Kibana is a plus.
