This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.
• Conduct research to identify small enterprises within specific industries and geographic areas.
• Develop and sustain a pipeline of thoroughly researched, call-ready acquisition prospects in the shared Acquisition Pipeline Tracker.
• Perform initial assessments based on company size, years of operation, location, and other relevant criteria.
• Utilize public records, licensing databases, trade organizations, LinkedIn, and additional resources to investigate businesses.
• Estimate company size and potential profitability when financial statements are not accessible.
• Identify business owners and ascertain the best available contact details.
• Create concise business summaries for the principal prior to outreach to owners.
• Assess and score acquisition targets using a defined six-point criterion and provide justification for evaluations.
• Draft brief follow-up emails for business owners who are unreachable.
• Ensure accurate and current information is maintained in the shared Acquisition Pipeline Tracker.
• Regularly communicate with the principal regarding progress, discoveries, and search strategies.
• Identify targets with recurring revenue streams, diverse customer bases, expanding industries, competitive advantages, and minimal exposure to technological disruption.
• Assist in the development of a well-organized acquisition-opportunity pipeline.
• Outstanding English communication skills, both written and verbal (minimum C1 level).
• A positive, enthusiastic demeanor and a willingness to collaborate and tackle challenges.
• Prior experience in M&A, corporate development, investment banking, private equity, search fund investing, or similar small-business evaluation and screening.
• High proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent research capabilities utilizing public records, licensing databases, LinkedIn, trade organizations, and other resources.
• Ability to estimate company size and potential profitability through indirect indicators.
• Strong independent judgment in identifying suitable acquisition targets.
• Proficient writing skills with the ability to clearly and succinctly summarize business information.
• Keen attention to detail and the capacity to maintain accurate research and company data.
• Competence in evaluating businesses based on industry growth, technological disruption, customer concentration, recurring revenue, supplier dependence, and competitive advantages.
• Fluency in English is essential for all roles.
