Threat Analyst 1

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Conduct investigations and analyze logs along with security-related events utilizing Sophos tools.

• Detect and respond to cyber threats within customer environments.

• Document and communicate findings to both technical and executive audiences of customers.

• Follow up with customers until issues are resolved.

• Offer recommendations to reduce risks in customer environments.

• Manage inbound customer inquiries via various communication channels.

• Collaborate with core security and threat response teams.

• Research new Indicators of Compromise/Attack, exploits, and vulnerabilities.

• Implement research findings to enhance customer protection.

• Deliver monitoring, detection, and response services for customer environments.

• Legal authorization to work in Canada without needing employer sponsorship.

• Willingness to work outside standard business hours, including weekends and holidays, for a 24x7x365 MDR service.

• Exceptional troubleshooting and analytical abilities.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Capability to work both collaboratively in a team and independently.

• A passion for information technology and cybersecurity.

• Curiosity and the ability to quickly learn new skills.

• A minimum of 2+ years of experience in a SOC environment or in a computer security team within an IT setting.

• Experience in threat hunting.

• Familiarity with endpoint and network security monitoring.

• Experience in administering and supporting Windows OS and either Apple or Linux-based operating systems.

• Knowledge of common adversary tactics and techniques.

• Understanding of the MITRE ATT&CK framework.

• Familiarity with incident response procedures.

• Basic understanding of network traffic analysis, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, and protocols.

• Basic knowledge of Windows event log analysis.
