Therapist, Suicide Prevention Program

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada.

📋 Description

• Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial evaluations, individual therapy, group therapy, joint family therapy, and teletherapy for parents/guardians for youth aged 12 to 26 who are at high or critical risk of suicide.

• Employ family-systems approaches, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Children (C-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) techniques, and Motivational Interviewing strategies.

• Utilize validated suicide risk assessment instruments, including the Columbia-Suicide Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS).

• Facilitate real-time safety planning, lethal means counseling, and crisis stabilization efforts.

• Conduct monthly assessments of acuity and risk stratification, adjusting the frequency of care and treatment objectives as needed.

• Guide clinical safety strategies in collaboration with Care Team Members and the Crisis Center.

• Address high-acuity escalations through prompt risk mitigation, triage, and updates to safety plans.

• Ensure timely DAP documentation that supports medical necessity, suicide risk assessments, family interventions, and billing for Medicaid Fee-for-Service.

• Utilize video conferencing, secure messaging, and interactive safety applications to engage youth and families effectively.

• Engage in interdisciplinary team meetings, uphold registry accuracy, and oversee billable hours, documentation turnaround, and attendance rates.

• Partner with members, families, and healthcare professionals to formulate personalized care plans.

• Design and coordinate access to medical, behavioral, suicide prevention, and social service resources.

• Identify and initiate referrals for financial, psychosocial, community, and state support services.

• Maintain confidentiality while documenting assessments, care plans, referrals, necessary records, reports, and diagnostic information.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or another relevant behavioral health field from an accredited institution.

• Active independent behavioral health license from the Nevada Department of Health (NV DOH).

• Eligible licenses include Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Clinical Professional Counselor (CPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Psychologist.

• Minimum of two years of direct experience working with both adolescents and adults in the behavioral health sector.

• Training and experience in crisis intervention.

• Understanding of local resources, social determinants of health, mental health issues, substance use disorders, interpersonal violence, and social challenges.

• Proficient in computer skills, including familiarity with electronic health records (EHR).

• Capacity to uphold strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment concerning sensitive member information.

• Exceptional listening, verbal, and written communication abilities.

• Competence in collaborating effectively with interdisciplinary teams.

• Ability to manage cases in both routine and crisis situations.

• Strong capability to independently prioritize and complete assigned responsibilities.

• Excellent time management, organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.

• Self-driven, adaptable team player with a strong sense of urgency in a dynamic environment.

• Experience in suicide prevention is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with Medicare or Medicaid practices is preferred.
