
Therapist – Suicide Prevention, Family Support

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Deliver evidence-based teletherapy for individuals, families, and parents/guardians for youth aged 12–26 who are at high or critical risk of suicide.
• Employ family-systems frameworks, C-CBT, DBT skills, and Motivational Interviewing techniques.
• Perform suicide risk assessments utilizing validated tools such as the C-SSRS.
• Facilitate real-time safety planning, lethal means counseling, and crisis stabilization efforts.
• Conduct monthly clinical assessments to evaluate acuity and monitor the trajectory of suicide risk.
• Modify care frequency and treatment objectives according to member readiness and family capacity.
• Lead clinical safety strategies in collaboration with Behavioral Health Support Specialists and the 24/7 crisis response team.
• Address high-acuity situations through immediate risk mitigation, triage, and updates to safety plans.
• Ensure timely DAP documentation that substantiates medical necessity, suicide risk levels, family interventions, and holistic care for Medicaid FFS billing.
• Utilize video conferencing, secure messaging, and interactive safety applications to engage with youth and caregivers.
• Take part in interdisciplinary huddles, maintain accurate registries, and monitor clinical KPIs.
• Work collaboratively with members, families, and healthcare providers to create tailored care plans.
• Develop and coordinate resources for medical, behavioral, suicide prevention, and social services.
• Identify and initiate referrals for financial, psychosocial, community, and state-supported services.
• Keep thorough records of assessments, care plans, referrals, reports, diagnostic records, and confidential member documentation.
• A Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or another relevant behavioral health discipline from an accredited institution is required.
• Valid independent behavioral health license from the Washington Department of Health (WA DOH).
• Acceptable licenses include LICSW, LMHC, or LMFT.
• Minimum of two years of direct experience working with adolescents and adults in the behavioral health sector is required.
• Strong preference for experience in suicide prevention.
• Required crisis intervention training and experience.
• Knowledge of local resources, social determinants of health, mental health issues, substance use disorders, interpersonal violence, and social challenges.
• Familiarity with Medicare or Medicaid practices is preferred.
• Proficient in computer use, including experience with electronic health records (EHR).
• Capability to provide case management in both routine and crisis scenarios.
• Must maintain strict confidentiality and demonstrate sound judgment when handling sensitive member information.
• Exceptional listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Strong planning, organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to work independently, adapt to change, and operate with urgency in a fast-paced environment.
