Therapist – Severe Mental Illness

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Deliver exceptional individual and group teletherapy sessions to members dealing with Serious Mental Illness and co-occurring conditions.

• Perform biopsychosocial assessments and apply evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT skills, Motivational Interviewing, and trauma-informed care.

• Conduct validated clinical assessments during monthly review cycles, evaluate acuity, monitor progress, and modify treatment plans and engagement frequency as necessary.

• Collaborate with an integrated care team to coordinate medical, behavioral, and Health-Related Social Needs care.

• Execute real-time risk assessments, develop safety plans, and provide crisis stabilization for high-acuity member incidents.

• Complete comprehensive DAP-format clinical documentation within 24 hours, adhering to Medicaid standards.

• Utilize video, secure messaging, and digital wellness resources to ensure ongoing member outreach and engagement.

• Take part in clinical team huddles, maintain population registry data, and monitor panel metrics.

• Involve family members, caregivers, and community organizations to establish support networks.

• Provide culturally competent, measurement-based direct patient care.

• Utilize M3, PHQ-9, GAD-7, and triage intake referrals effectively.

• Create, manage, and revise treatment plans as needed.

• Safeguard confidential patient records and diagnostic documentation within the employer’s EMR system.

• Submit charges for professional services on a daily basis.

• Offer coverage for the absences of colleagues when clinically appropriate.

• Mentor and support incoming therapists as applicable.

• Carry out other assigned duties.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or another relevant behavioral health discipline from an accredited institution is mandatory.

• A current independent behavioral health license from the Washington Department of Health (WA DOH) is required.

• Eligible licenses include Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

• A minimum of two years of direct experience working with adults in the behavioral health sector is essential.

• Experience dealing with severe mental illness is required.

• Familiarity with local resources, social determinants of health, mental health, substance use disorders, interpersonal violence, and social issues is important.

• Knowledge of Medicare or Medicaid practices is preferred.

• Capability to provide case/care management in both routine and crisis situations is necessary.

• Demonstrated ability to train, develop, and mentor team members is crucial.

• Proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively with others.

• Skill in identifying needs and taking independent action to implement change is required.

• Strong planning, organizing, time management, multitasking, and follow-through skills are essential.

• Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication abilities are necessary.
