Therapist – Severe Mental Illness

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Deliver exceptional individual and group teletherapy services to clients experiencing Serious Mental Illness and co-occurring conditions.

• Perform biopsychosocial assessments and manage intake referrals through triage.

• Implement evidence-based techniques such as CBT, DBT skills, Motivational Interviewing, and trauma-informed care.

• Conduct validated clinical assessments during monthly review sessions.

• Monitor acuity and progress, revising treatment plans and engagement frequency as needed.

• Act as the clinical lead in collaboration with a Behavioral Health Support Specialist.

• Facilitate the coordination of medical, behavioral, and Health-Related Social Needs care across various treatment environments.

• Execute real-time risk assessments, safety planning, and crisis stabilization efforts.

• Complete comprehensive DAP-format clinical documentation within 24 hours following service delivery.

• Engage in consistent, high-frequency outreach via video, secure messaging, and digital wellness resources.

• Participate in clinical team huddles, maintain population registry information, and monitor panel metrics.

• Involve family members, caregivers, and community organizations in the care process.

• Create, manage, and revise treatment plans as necessary.

• Inform clients about available resources and community programs while making appropriate referrals.

• Ensure the confidentiality of patient records and diagnostic documentation in the EMR system.

• Submit daily charges for professional services rendered.

• Provide coverage for colleagues during their absences.

• Mentor and support new therapists when applicable.

• Perform additional duties as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or another relevant behavioral health discipline from an accredited institution is required.

• A current independent behavioral health license from the Washington Department of Health (WA DOH) is mandatory.

• Eligible license types include Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

• A minimum of two years of direct experience in the behavioral health field working with adults is required.

• Experience with severe mental illness is essential.

• Familiarity with local resources, social determinants of health, mental health issues, substance use disorders, interpersonal violence, and social challenges is necessary.

• Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of Medicare or Medicaid practices.

• Capability to provide evidence-based individual and group therapy, including CBT, DBT skills, Motivational Interviewing, and trauma-informed care.

• Proficiency in administering clinical assessments such as M3, PHQ-9, and GAD-7.

• Skills in conducting risk assessments, safety planning, crisis stabilization, and care coordination are required.

• Strong abilities in clinical documentation, EMR usage, case/care management, and panel management are necessary.

• Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills are essential.

• Ability to effectively plan, organize, manage time, prioritize multiple tasks, and work independently.

• Must comply with relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and Medicaid standards.
