Tetum VRI/OPI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Professionally answer calls, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be prepared to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary relevant to the industry in which you are interpreting (particularly healthcare and medical) - training will be provided.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages without adding, omitting, or substituting any content.

• Deliver the highest level of customer service during the interpreting process.

• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing accurate and complete interpretations of messages.

• Adhere to established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training sessions.

• Show eagerness to obtain new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report effectively to your team leader.

• Follow dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Tetum."

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in telephone interpretation within a recognized interpretation company is advantageous, though not required.

• Familiarity with medical terminology is a plus, but not necessary.

• Basic knowledge of legal terminology is beneficial.

• International certifications in the healthcare sector, such as PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc., are advantageous.

• A high school diploma in your native language is required.

• Possess high emotional intelligence and tolerance for diverse cultures.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills are essential.
