Thai - English Translator/Interpreter, Part Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Thailand.

📋 Description

• Translate project documentation between Thai and English, encompassing business requirements, user stories, test cases, user manuals, training materials, and release notes.

• Collaborate with Business Analysts and Project Managers to effectively capture and communicate requirements from Thai-speaking clients.

• Participate in client meetings, workshops, and demonstrations with Thai clients to provide real-time interpretation and take notes.

• Assist in written communication with Thai clients through emails, meeting summaries, follow-ups, and clarification requests.

• Review Thai-language content for precision, tone, and consistency.

• Localize product and platform content for Thai users while ensuring consistent terminology.

• Develop and maintain a Thai–English glossary of insurance and technical terminology.

• Identify wording that may be ambiguous, culturally insensitive, or subject to misinterpretation for Thai audiences.

• Carry out additional assigned tasks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Fluent or native-level proficiency in both Thai and English, both written and spoken.

• Strong written communication abilities, with a focus on detail and accuracy.

• Comfortable working with documentation while adhering to a consistent structure and format.

• Capable of working independently in a fully remote environment and proactively communicating across time zones.

• Good organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

• Interest in insurance, technology, or insurtech is preferred.

• Previous experience in translation, interpretation, or localization is a plus.

• Familiarity with tools such as Google Workspace, Jira, or Confluence is advantageous.

• Must be willing to work at least 4 hours per day, 5 days a week.

• Currently enrolled in, or a graduate of, a degree in Communication, Languages, Translation, English, Linguistics, or any relevant field, or possess 1-3 years of experience related to Thai-English Translation.
