This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the technical lead for test engineering on DCS and digital I&C upgrade initiatives.
• Create and uphold project-specific testing strategies, plans, procedures, and acceptance criteria.
• Assist with factory acceptance testing (FAT), integrated system testing, site acceptance testing (SAT), pre-operational testing, and commissioning activities.
• Collaborate with discipline leads and project teams across various business units on technical scope, priorities, and deliverables.
• Manage test scope, interfaces, schedules, prerequisites, resources, equipment, and documentation among engineering and project teams.
• Evaluate digital control system designs, logic, displays, alarm functionalities, communication interfaces, system configurations, and supporting documentation to ensure testability and completeness.
• Oversee the identification, documentation, assessment, and resolution of testing discrepancies and potential issues.
• Offer technical guidance to test engineers and project staff, which includes coaching, work planning, and reviewing deliverables.
• Liaise with clients, vendors, construction and commissioning organizations, and regulatory stakeholders.
• Formulate project management and commissioning/testing plans that include acceptance criteria, verification/validation requirements, and turnover deliverables.
• Assist in project estimates, proposals, schedules, resource plans, and execution strategies.
• Ensure testing adheres to approved procedures, quality standards, configuration controls, cybersecurity expectations, and relevant nuclear standards and regulations.
• Compile technical reports, test records, turnover packages, status updates, and recommendations for project leadership.
• Identify opportunities to enhance testing methods, standardize deliverables, and bolster execution within the digital I&C practice.
• Conduct post-project evaluations to gather lessons learned and improve future nuclear project execution.
• Support nuclear power clients in planning, executing, and delivering DCS and digital I&C upgrade projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, nuclear engineering, controls engineering, or a related field.
• Over 10 years of experience in test engineering, commissioning, systems integration, or I&C engineering within the nuclear power sector or similarly regulated industries.
• Proven experience with DCS, digital I&C systems, plant control systems, or related automation platforms.
• Experience in developing, reviewing, and executing formal testing procedures and acceptance testing programs.
• Solid understanding of system integration, requirements traceability, configuration management, and verification and validation principles.
• Capability to lead technical efforts, manage conflicting priorities, and deliver high-quality results on schedule.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to travel approximately 20 to 25% of the time.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent technical credential preferred.
• Experience in supporting nuclear plant modifications, digital modernization programs, DCS replacements, or digital I&C upgrades preferred.
• Familiarity with Emerson Ovation, Siemens, Foxboro, Schneider Electric, GE, or other comparable nuclear-grade control systems preferred.
• Knowledge of nuclear quality assurance programs and standards, including 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, IEEE 7-4.3.2, IEEE 603, ASME NQA-1, and applicable NRC guidance preferred.
• Experience with human factors engineering, safety-related and non-safety-related digital systems, cybersecurity controls, or safety system modernization preferred.
• Experience leading FATs, SATs, integrated testing, or outage-related implementation and testing activities preferred.
• Project management, work planning, estimating, or client-development experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Core competencies in project governance, scheduling, cost management, risk/issue tracking, vendor management, process improvement, team leadership, stakeholder communication, and organizational alignment.
• Comfortable supporting station outage activities as needed.
