This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Create testing criteria based on operational requirements and Key Performance Parameters to ensure technical performance and operational suitability.
• Develop test plans and scripts that encompass system integrity, security, user requirements, and lifecycle testing objectives.
• Perform Developmental Testing and Operational Testing in line with relevant DHS testing guidelines, including Instruction Guide 026-06-001-01.
• Carry out functional, integration, regression, and acceptance tests for updated interfaces, cloud services, and enterprise integrations.
• Confirm cybersecurity requirements by applying the relevant DHS Procedures for Operational Test and Evaluation of Cybersecurity.
• Validate results of data migration, conduct data-quality checks, and assess authentication compatibility and controlled user access and upload functions.
• Create and sustain repeatable test scripts and automation where suitable.
• Collaborate on testing in conjunction with development and deployment workflows.
• Document defects, keep supporting evidence, coordinate corrective measures, and retest fixes alongside developers and platform teams.
• Present test outcomes, risks, and recommendations that support Government acceptance and release decisions.
• Maintain version-controlled testing artifacts.
• Engage in design reviews, implementation planning, and quality assurance tasks.
• Execute other related responsibilities as assigned.
• Two (2) to four (4) years of relevant experience in software testing, test engineering, or quality assurance.
• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience in developing test plans, cases, scripts, acceptance criteria, and requirements traceability for web applications and cloud-hosted systems.
• Proven experience in conducting functional, integration, regression, and operational testing.
• Skilled in documenting defects and verifying corrective actions.
• Familiarity with test automation, API testing, CI/CD workflows, and validating security and data integrity requirements.
• Capable of effectively communicating test findings and recommendations.
• Must successfully complete the mandated DHS/CISA background investigation.
• Must obtain and sustain a favorable DHS suitability/fitness determination (Public Trust).
• Must maintain necessary system access.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Must fulfill DHS/CISA personnel and system access requirements.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must meet the required Government background investigation, system access, nondisclosure, and sensitive-information protection standards.
• Work hours typically range from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday.
• Required availability from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
• ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) certification is highly preferred.
