This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Oversee the development of test strategies and planning, which includes determining the test approach, scope, environments, schedule, and entry/exit criteria.
• Create and uphold the master test plan.
• Examine business requirements, process definitions, and user stories to pinpoint testable acceptance criteria.
• Formulate test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test data for financial automations, ML-driven workflows, and integrations.
• Conduct functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end testing.
• Document test outcomes and maintain verification evidence.
• Design, develop, and enhance Python-based automated testing frameworks and API tests.
• Incorporate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines as quality checkpoints.
• Ensure data integrity and accuracy for automated financial transactions, including inputs, outputs, exception handling, and reconciliation results.
• Assess ML model integrations for anticipated outputs, accuracy thresholds, edge cases, and unanticipated data.
• Confirm compliance with NIST SP 800-53 controls, FIPS 140-3 encryption, DHS Directive 4300.1, and FFMIA.
• Facilitate defect triage meetings and monitor defects until resolution.
• Conduct root-cause analysis with developers and validate fixes.
• Maintain traceability from requirements to tests.
• Report on test coverage, pass/fail rates, and defect trends.
• Lead assessments for release readiness and provide go/no-go recommendations.
• Assist with user acceptance testing alongside Government stakeholders.
• Execute regression testing following system, application, or process modifications.
• Mentor and guide testing analysts and assess test artifacts.
• Advocate for consistent testing standards and best practices, including approved AI-assisted testing tools.
• Establish and report on test metrics and quality gates.
• Present findings to program leadership.
• Compile test reports, summaries, and documentation for release decisions and audit preparedness.
• Safeguard sensitive financial information.
• Carry out additional related tasks as assigned.
• A bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, or a related field is mandatory; equivalent education, training, and relevant experience will be considered.
• Over 10 years of relevant experience in software test engineering, verification and validation (V&V), quality assurance, or test automation.
• A minimum of 3 years in a leadership role for test efforts or teams.
• Proven experience in developing test strategies and master test plans.
• Skilled in planning and executing functional, integration, regression, and system-level testing.
• Proficient in writing test plans, test cases, and test procedures.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python scripting.
• Expert-level experience in API testing, such as using Postman.
• Experience in designing and expanding automated test frameworks like Selenium.
• Familiarity with defect tracking, root-cause analysis, and validating fixes.
• Proficient in using Jira and Confluence.
• Experience with requirements-based testing and traceability using DOORS, Jama, or Jira.
• Strong background in Agile/Scrum, SDLC, CI/CD pipelines, quality gates, GitHub Actions, GitLab, Git, and configuration management.
• Experience in defining test metrics and quality gates.
• Proven ability to present test results, risks, and release recommendations to leadership.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Capability to obtain and maintain a DHS/ICE Public Trust suitability determination.
• Ability to successfully complete the required DHS/ICE background investigation.
• Ability to obtain and maintain necessary system access.
• Availability to work Monday through Friday.
