Test Architect – Regression, Quality Strategy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of designing a comprehensive end-to-end regression testing strategy and framework across various platform components and enterprise environments.

• Convert formal success metrics and technical evaluation standards into clear, measurable, and automatable acceptance criteria.

• Define thorough test coverage for log and metric ingestion, search and query performance, distributed tracing accuracy, audit trail integrity and immutability, alert firing/delivery/routing, IaC deployment validation, load and scalability, failure injection, and security/compliance criteria.

• Create the automation architecture and identify suitable testing methodologies and tools.

• Establish regression suites that consistently validate sprint deliverables.

• Manage the test environment strategy and oversee test data management across multiple product versions and environments.

• Define validation approaches for performance, functionality, security, and scalability.

• Verify reproducible Infrastructure as Code deployments against the established acceptance criteria.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure testing strategies align with platform architecture.

• Monitor testing progress, risks, defects, and overall quality status throughout the development lifecycle.

• Deliver quality reports and recommendations during sprint reviews and discussions with stakeholders.

• Own quality gates and provide sign-off recommendations prior to formal acceptance.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in Test Architecture, Quality Engineering, QA Automation, or related technical quality roles.

• Demonstrated experience in leading testing strategies for distributed, data-intensive, or infrastructure-heavy systems.

• Extensive experience in designing robust regression testing frameworks and automation strategies.

• Proven experience in validating performance, scalability, security, and reliability.

• Strong grasp of modern observability concepts and distributed systems.

• Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure and automated deployment environments.

• Comprehensive understanding of software development lifecycles, Agile methodologies, and sprint-based development.

• Experience in defining formal acceptance criteria and quality gates.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Working knowledge of OpenTelemetry and contemporary observability concepts.

• Understanding of log and metrics pipelines.

• Experience in validating distributed tracing and/or observability workflows.

• Proficient knowledge of AWS-based infrastructure sufficient to design relevant technical test cases.

• Experience in validating Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployments.

• Familiarity with Terraform-deployed environments.

• Background in load, scale, and performance testing.

• Experience in defining test strategies across multiple environments and/or product versions.

• Knowledge in defining test environments and test data strategies.

• Experience in translating technical success metrics into measurable and automatable acceptance criteria.

• Familiarity with formal quality gates and the Definition of Done (DoD).

• Comfortable taking ownership of quality sign-off and providing acceptance recommendations.
