Test Architect – Regression, Quality Strategy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Take charge of creating and implementing the end-to-end regression testing strategy and framework across various platform components and enterprise environments.

• Convert formal success metrics and technical evaluation criteria into clear, quantifiable, and automatable acceptance criteria.

• Specify test coverage for log and metric ingestion, search and query performance, distributed tracing, audit trail integrity, alerting, IaC deployment validation, load and scalability, failure injection, as well as security and compliance criteria.

• Develop the automation architecture and identify suitable testing methodologies and tools.

• Create regression suites that consistently verify sprint deliverables.

• Oversee the test environment strategy and manage test data across various product versions and environments.

• Establish methodologies for performance, functional, security, and scalability validation.

• Confirm reproducible Infrastructure as Code deployments against acceptance criteria.

• Work in collaboration with engineering teams to ensure testing aligns with platform architecture.

• Monitor testing progress, risks, defects, and quality status throughout the development lifecycle.

• Deliver quality reporting and suggestions during sprint reviews and discussions with stakeholders.

• Manage quality gates and provide sign-off recommendations prior to formal acceptance.

• Develop and uphold automated quality processes that support cloud-native applications, AI-assisted development workflows, and continuous integration practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in Test Architecture, Quality Engineering, QA Automation, or related technical quality roles.

• Demonstrated experience in leading testing strategies for distributed, data-intensive, or infrastructure-heavy systems.

• Extensive experience in designing comprehensive regression testing frameworks and automation strategies.

• Experience in validating performance, scalability, security, and reliability.

• Profound understanding of modern observability concepts and distributed systems.

• Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure and automated deployment environments.

• Strong grasp of software development lifecycles, Agile delivery, and sprint-based development.

• Experience in defining formal acceptance criteria and quality gates.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Proven leadership in regression testing strategy and automation architecture.

• Working knowledge of OpenTelemetry and contemporary observability concepts.

• Understanding of log and metrics pipelines.

• Experience in validating distributed tracing and/or observability workflows.

• Familiarity with AWS-based infrastructure.

• Experience in validating Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployments.

• Experience with environments deployed using Terraform.

• Background in load, scale, and performance testing.

• Experience in defining test strategies across multiple environments and/or product versions.

• Experience in establishing test environments and test data strategies.

• Ability to translate technical success metrics into measurable and automatable acceptance criteria.

• Experience in working with formal quality gates and Definition of Done (DoD).

• Comfortable taking ownership of quality sign-off and providing acceptance recommendations.
