This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Act as a point of contact between Vermeer and its dealers, relaying dealer activities and concerns to the Company.
• Advocate and disseminate Company policies relevant to dealers.
• Cultivate relationships within the dealer network and facilitate support from various Vermeer departments.
• Conduct interviews and recommend prospective dealers, set dealer objectives, address issues with underperforming dealerships, identify new dealer prospects, and terminate those that do not meet performance standards.
• Create strategic marketing plans tailored for each dealer and provide necessary resources to achieve their objectives.
• Assess dealer strengths and weaknesses, compiling competitive dealer data.
• Assist in challenging customer and business scenarios, aiding dealers in addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
• Participate in and support dealers at farm shows, open houses, and demonstration events.
• Perform sales calls with dealers, driving sales and promoting equipment to them.
• Ensure timely completion of projects and customer orders.
• Train dealers on sales techniques, service protocols, finance, and product knowledge.
• Respond to customer inquiries and enhance dealer understanding of Vermeer products and competing equipment.
• Project sales forecasts and manage field inventory levels.
• Relay sales data to production through the sales manager.
• Supervise equipment ordering and delivery while managing dealer-to-dealer transfers.
• Inspect dealer inventory for sales status, quality, and order accuracy.
• A Bachelor's degree in Agriculture Business or Mechanization with at least three years of sales experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• Preferred experience in the agricultural equipment industry and management.
• Advanced knowledge of heavy agricultural equipment, including tractors and hay machinery.
• Understanding of basic mechanics and technology related to heavy agricultural equipment.
• Capability to operate agricultural equipment.
• Effective management of dealer operations, encompassing sales targets, inventory control, and dealer performance metrics.
• Proven sales skills with the ability to achieve sales targets.
• General business acumen, including finance, personnel management, customer relations, accounting, computer proficiency, and marketing.
• Strong comprehension of financial reporting instruments, such as financial statements, pricing sheets, and budgets.
• Provide informative and professional support when interacting with the public, customers, and colleagues.
• Maintain positive interpersonal relationships and effectively manage complaints.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Capacity to collaborate with dealers to achieve Company business objectives.
• Ability to cultivate interpersonal relationships with colleagues, staff, clients, and the community.
• Significant travel is anticipated.
