This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.
• Take ownership of Oxford Instruments' sales portfolio within designated markets and accounts.
• Achieve or surpass the assigned sales targets for Oxford Instruments.
• Act as the main point of contact for both current and potential customers, as well as relevant OEM/channel partners throughout the sales process.
• Identify, qualify, and oversee sales leads and new customer accounts.
• Engage in prospecting via online platforms, associations, and resources from funding agencies.
• Formulate and implement sales strategies to uncover opportunities, finalize deals, and reach targets.
• Track the sales funnel and ensure a sufficient number of opportunities to meet goals.
• Establish and maintain customer relationships while identifying new opportunities within the territory.
• Cultivate productive relationships with OEM partners as necessary.
• Keep abreast of industry trends, competitor actions, and market changes.
• Provide market intelligence to inform company strategies and mitigate risks.
• Ensure accurate sales forecasts and update CRM systems on a daily basis.
• Organize workshops, customer events, demonstrations, training sessions, and technical support with application specialists and regional marketing.
• Coordinate internal resources and partners to deliver positive customer experiences.
• Collaborate with application specialists, service teams, and engineering/product management to provide tailored solutions, installations, and customer training.
• Travel frequently to meet customers, attend trade shows, and support customer installations.
• Manage travel and operational expenses effectively.
• Employ consultative, value-based selling techniques to enhance customer satisfaction, reduce discounting, and utilize the company’s product offerings.
• A bachelor's degree in a STEM field or a related area is preferred.
• 3–5 years of sales experience within the scientific sector.
• Comprehensive experience with relevant technologies, customers, and markets.
• Willingness to travel 50% of the time, including occasional international trips.
• NMR experience is highly preferred.
• Strong background in technical sales, including relationship management and thorough customer engagement across various departments and functions.
• A professional network and a toolkit that enable immediate results.
• Extensive familiarity with CRM platforms, preferably SAP CRM.
• Capable of delivering sales presentations and conveying technical information in an easily digestible manner.
• Results-driven, with the ability to take initiative and a strong sense of urgency.
• Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent collaboration skills and the capacity to follow established processes while gaining support from teammates and internal stakeholders.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, including proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel.
• Willingness and capability to travel domestically and internationally as needed, subject to standard visa requirements.
• Ability to form effective working relationships both internally and externally across the organization.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; Oxford Instruments cannot sponsor or assume responsibility for employment visa sponsorship.
