This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.
• Take ownership and expand the Digital Native and Retail sector by managing GitLab's enterprise relationships within the Japanese market.
• Oversee the complete sales process, from prospecting and qualification to implementation and long-term customer engagement.
• Create and implement account strategies that align with client business objectives and long-term aspirations.
• Identify and cultivate opportunities within designated large and strategic accounts.
• Collaborate with key channel partners to generate qualified leads and attract new customers.
• Facilitate pre-sales and post-sales interactions with solutions architects, customer success teams, and support staff.
• Provide leadership on accounts and deliver regular updates on activities, pipeline status, and forecasts to sales management.
• Evaluate successes and failures, participate in root cause analysis, and communicate insights gained.
• Relay customer feedback and product suggestions through GitLab's public issue tracker and internal communication channels.
• Identify business challenges, formulate solution recommendations, and present proposals, quotes, and presentations.
• Proven experience managing intricate sales cycles with large, strategic enterprise clients in the Digital Native and retail sectors.
• Capability to prospect, qualify, and develop new business opportunities while enhancing existing accounts.
• Expertise in leading pre-sales and post-sales initiatives alongside technical, support, and channel partners.
• Strong skills in consultative selling, account planning, proposal development, and presentation delivery.
• Ability to maintain precise records of activities, pipeline progress, and forecasting reports.
• Capacity to contribute to win/loss evaluations and root cause analyses.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with sales management, product, marketing, and technical teams.
• Understanding of software development concepts and tools.
• Preferred experience with Git, software development tools, or application lifecycle management.
