This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +1 more state.
• Develop strategic accounts while discovering new or previously untapped opportunities within hospitals and healthcare systems.
• Generate profitable revenue by creating and delivering solutions focused on customers and patients.
• Assess account goals, objectives, strategies, and competitive landscapes.
• Establish and sustain relationships with senior stakeholders in healthcare accounts, including C-suite executives, VP-level administrators, and department chairs.
• Broaden business prospects and enhance the value proposition and brand access of Merz Therapeutics.
• Identify external experts and offer customer insights to the organization.
• Analyze sales and market trends to pinpoint future business possibilities.
• Present and advocate for Merz Therapeutics products for approved indications through consultative selling techniques.
• Carry out comprehensive office visits and hospital sales activities, including detailing and sampling for customers.
• Create, uphold, and implement a territory business/action plan.
• Maintain knowledge of products, disease states, market data, and dynamics within the marketplace.
• Manage the customer database utilizing a Sales Force Automation System.
• Adapt selling strategies based on marketing data insights.
• Support local advocacy relationships and engage in sales meetings and workshops.
• Collaborate with Medical Affairs, Managed Markets, National Account Directors, Reimbursement Access Managers, and Key Account Directors.
• Navigate the complexities of managed care, specialty pharmacy, Medicare Part B, and state Medicaid reimbursement environments.
• Adhere to promotional and commercial policies while fulfilling administrative obligations.
• Allocate and budget territory resources based on ROI analysis.
• Exemplify the values and operational norms of Merz Therapeutics.
• Must reside in the Kansas City, MO area.
• Willingness to travel 40–70% of the time with minimal overnight stays.
• A minimum of 3 years of specialty sales experience is required.
• Experience in pharmaceutical or biotech sales is preferred.
• A bachelor’s degree is required at a minimum.
• Preferred experience in buy-and-bill injectable sales.
• Hospital sales experience is a plus.
• Neurology experience is preferred.
• A proven and documented history of meeting or surpassing sales management objectives.
• Strong knowledge of products and disease states.
• Familiarity with market data and marketplace dynamics.
• Understanding of managed care, specialty pharmacy, Medicare Part B, and state Medicaid selling and reimbursement environments.
• Ability to navigate reimbursement trends and managed care challenges.
• Compliance with Merz Therapeutics promotional and commercial policies is essential.
• Professional, compliant, and ethical interactions with customers.
• Proficiency in using a Sales Force Automation System.
• Capability to allocate and budget territory resources based on ROI analysis.
• 40–70% travel role with limited overnight stays.
