Temporary Conflicts Staff Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Conduct and evaluate conflict database searches for new cases involving both prospective and current clients.

• Identify potential conflict issues for attorneys who are beginning new client relationships and matters.

• Support intake attorneys in resolving potential conflicts by liaising with attorneys managing prior cases.

• Aid in recognizing conflicts of interest.

• Help draft waivers for conflicts that can be waived under relevant Rules of Professional Conduct.

• Engage in training attorneys and staff on conflict screening as well as new client and matter intake procedures.

• Execute specialized searches for former relationships of new attorneys, potential mergers, and comparable issues.

• Take part in special projects related to new business intake or lateral hire onboarding.

• Provide on-call assistance for conflicts checks concerning new business intake.

• Support with administrative duties and other designated tasks.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience as an attorney performing conflict analysis in a large law firm setting is highly preferred.

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree is required.

• Proven understanding of conflict-of-interest regulations under the Rules of Professional Conduct is necessary.

• Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.

• Ability to cultivate relationships with other attorneys to foster trust in the conflicts analysis and approval process.

• Strong attention to detail, analytical, and organizational abilities.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills and capacity to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong customer service aptitude, with the ability to understand and quickly address a variety of inquiries.

• Capability to perform under pressure and meet project deadlines.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.

• Experience with Intapp Open or similar products is preferred.
