This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct thorough surveys of current equipment, cabling, pathways, power infrastructure, and site conditions to facilitate engineering design, configuration, integration, relocation, installation, and decommissioning planning.
• Participate in job-start walkthroughs with clients and end users to validate survey scope, deliverables, access and escort requirements, work restrictions, and safety protocols.
• Survey transmission, data, and cloud equipment, AC/DC power systems, UPS and battery setups, fiber and copper cabling, pathways, grounding systems, and supervisory or alarm systems.
• Record equipment inventories, rack elevations, fiber and copper counts, cable connections, pathway dimensions, power-source identification, and grounding observations.
• Analyze and interpret job specifications, floor plans, equipment diagrams, wiring schematics, MOPs, and test records.
• Document any inconsistencies between on-site conditions and existing documentation.
• Assemble comprehensive survey packages including templates, labeled photo logs, annotated drawings, equipment and cable schedules, discrepancies, constraints, and unresolved inquiries.
• Provide updates on completed tasks, outstanding work, and issues impacting project completion.
• Conduct in-process and final quality assessments of survey deliverables and assigned installation tasks.
• Adhere to company and client safety, administrative, and documentation standards.
• Execute designated equipment, hardware, wiring, circuit, software, testing, turn-up, and integration tasks.
• Carry out authorized battery additions or removals and work on operational power distribution systems.
• Manage daily survey tasks and ensure the accuracy and completeness of survey packages.
• Identify discrepancies, access limitations, and execution risks, escalating matters that require engineering or client direction.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• A minimum of five years of relevant telecommunications installation, site survey, or engineering field experience, or a comparable combination of training and experience as determined by company management.
• Previous field leadership experience is essential.
• Familiarity with telecommunications installation techniques, low- and high-density fiber systems, copper cabling, AC/DC power, UPS and battery systems, infrastructure, and supervisory or alarm systems.
• Knowledge of fiber installation methods and experience with relevant fiber, copper, and coaxial cable testing.
• Ability to read, follow, and prepare MOPs, and comprehend the risks associated with working near operational equipment.
• Proficient in laptop usage, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
• Capability to complete electronic survey templates, organize photographs, and maintain drawing markups.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Capacity to work independently and generate precise survey documentation with minimal oversight.
• Ability to identify and document power sources and distribution infrastructure.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Must meet applicable pre-employment background check criteria and company vehicle insurability standards.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and engage in significant walking, ladder climbing, and standing.
• Capability to push/pull equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. through designated facilities.
• Ability to interpret written, verbal, and diagrammatic instructions.
• Understanding and adherence to company and client policies, safety protocols, and site access requirements.
• Ability to access confined workspaces, with or without reasonable accommodation.
