This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Deliver tailored course content in a virtual setting
• Offer instruction, support, and mentorship
• Manage the learning experience while focusing on the unique needs of each student
• Track student progress through Stride K12's learning management system
• Collaborate closely with students and their parents/learning coaches to facilitate learning towards defined objectives
• Provide both synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities
• Customize learning experiences for every student
• Differentiate instruction according to individual student mastery
• Enhance course material utilizing approved asynchronous and synchronous tools
• Maintain the grade book and uphold academic integrity
• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion
• Notify administrators about concerns related to student performance and progress
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments
• Foster and maintain positive relationships with families
• Communicate and respond promptly to students and learning coaches/parents
• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting
• Travel for professional development, student assessments, and other school-related responsibilities
• Michigan Teaching Certification is mandatory
• Technology Education (TE/IX) certificate is required
• Must be a resident of Michigan
• Bachelor's degree is necessary
• Active state teaching license is essential
• Capability to pass the required background check
• Ability to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week
• Must maintain a professional home office free from distractions during work hours
• Willingness to travel as needed, averaging once per month and/or approximately 20% of the time
• Experience with the specified age group is required
• Experience in supporting both adults and children in using technology
• Background in teaching in online and/or traditional classroom settings
• Familiarity with online learning platforms is preferred
• Ability to interpret and generate numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
• Capacity to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
• Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
