Technical Writer – Freelance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain content directly within a docs-as-code framework utilizing Git and Markdown/MDX.

• Transition existing help center articles into version-controlled repositories, ensuring peer review processes are followed.

• Independently produce clear and precise content for moderately complex features, including user manuals, help center articles, and UI text.

• Effectively utilize approved AI tools to enhance workflow efficiency while maintaining high-quality, accurate, and human-readable final content.

• Collaborate with teams across Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing, Customer Experience, and Implementation.

• Collect requirements, manage project expectations, and guarantee content accuracy.

• Proficiently use Zendesk, CMS, and docs-as-code tools.

• Propose enhancements to content processes and optimize team workflows.

• Oversee content assets from creation through to publication.

• Monitor and report on content performance using established dashboards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Generally, 3 or more years of experience in technical writing.

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects at once to meet deadlines.

• Familiarity with Git and Markdown or MDX is essential.

• Prior experience with a docs-as-code workflow is preferred.

• Strong skills in self-editing and peer review.

• Capability to independently learn and articulate moderately complex technical concepts.

• Proficiency in applying established accessibility and global localization best practices.

• Quick adaptability to new tools or processes.

• A proactive and dependable contributor to team efforts.

• A passion for crafting impactful documentation complemented by core technical writing skills.
