Technical Support Engineer I – IoT, Networking, Cloud Infra

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Deliver first-line technical support to a worldwide customer base.

• Oversee and address support tickets via the ticketing system.

• Conduct initial troubleshooting and issue evaluation.

• Refer complex issues to Tier 2 or Engineering as necessary.

• Handle customer communications and provide prompt updates in line with SLA commitments.

• Offer remote technical assistance to Field Service Engineers working at customer sites.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in technical support, specifically with IoT devices, field hardware, and networking systems.

• Strong understanding of the TCP/IP model, encompassing TCP/UDP.

• Familiarity with static IP versus DHCP reservations, NTP time synchronization, MAC-address whitelisting, and Wi-Fi frequencies (2.4 GHz vs. 5 GHz).

• Hands-on experience with Gateways, Sensors, and Routers, including provisioning, asset mapping, field commissioning, and Over-The-Air (OTA) firmware updates.

• Knowledge of SIM lifecycle operations, including activations, suspensions, expirations, ICCID/IMEI verification, roaming, custom APN authentication, and cellular failover/interface priority settings.

• Capability to interpret and analyze RSSI, SNR, RSRP, SINR, and BLE signal metrics.

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP is preferred.

• Understanding of least-privilege access, bastion hosts, SSO, OAuth, and MFA.

• Basic familiarity with MQTT, HTTPS, WebSockets, Webhooks, and REST APIs.

• Basic knowledge of Postman, Developer Tools, Wireshark, and observability platforms such as Kibana or Groundcover.

• This position requires full-time employment and availability for the specified Monday–Friday schedule.
