Technical Services Engineer III

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary technical authority and leader in guiding all stages of the commissioning and development process.

• Implement integrated energy management solutions across diverse and complex project scopes.

• Maintain a technical focus to balance project limitations and desired outcomes for the Technical Services division.

• Detect deficiencies in project execution and create standard operating procedures and organization-wide standards to address systemic challenges.

• Contribute to major business decisions while managing significant project assignments.

• Promote training, coaching, and mentorship initiatives throughout the Technical Services division.

• Oversee intricate system integrations, conduct peer reviews, and enhance the optimization of multi-system plants.

• Assist with Energy-as-a-Service projects and the creation and execution of energy conservation strategies for retro-commissioning efforts.

• Offer technical knowledge throughout all stages of the commissioning process and collaborate with the engineer of record to enhance system performance.

• Work closely with project managers, energy managers, and Technical Services team leads to achieve energy and operational performance goals.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.

• More than 10 years of experience in engineering design, energy management, or retro commissioning.

• Possession of a Professional Engineering (PE) license.

• Extensive technical expertise in building systems, energy management, and commissioning standards.

• Outstanding leadership and organizational abilities, with a proven history of developing standards and guiding technical teams.

• Strong capacity to influence strategic business decisions and address critical execution challenges.

• Willingness to travel 30-50% of the time.

• Preferred: Commissioning Certification from ACG, BCxA, or ASHRAE.

• Preferred: Certified Energy Manager (CEM).

• Preferred: Experience in projects related to healthcare and higher education environments.

• Preferred: Knowledge of Chilled Water, Heating Water, Steam, and Tower Water system projects.

• Preferred: Experience with hydronic system distribution, including centralized and multi-plant configurations.

• Preferred: Experience in building automation, controls, and systems integration projects.

• Preferred: Familiarity with AutoCAD and REVIT software.

• Capability to perform physical tasks such as prolonged standing or sitting, climbing stairs, and repetitive wrist, hand, or finger motions.

• Ability to adjust and/or lift objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
