Technical Sales Leader

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Act as the lead technical sales authority for designated regions and clientele.

• Offer technical knowledge on door systems, components, glass, product applications, installation techniques, building regulations, product performance, and specifications.

• Assist commercial teams with product positioning, value propositions, technical presentations, and client solutions.

• Collaborate with sales leaders and account managers on strategic growth efforts.

• Deliver technical product training to customers, distributors, dealers, builders, architects, and internal sales personnel.

• Address complex technical customer inquiries and field performance issues.

• Recognize market opportunities, trends, competitive challenges, and customer requirements.

• Formulate market penetration and growth strategies alongside commercial leaders.

• Influence product specifications and adoption throughout the value chain.

• Assist with customer conversions, new product launches, and commercialization efforts.

• Establish relationships with customers, distributors, manufacturers, dealers, builders, and industry influencers.

• Conduct customer visits, technical assessments, plant evaluations, and field observations.

• Represent Owens Corning at industry events, trade exhibitions, customer meetings, and technical conferences.

• Work in conjunction with Product Management, Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, Customer Service, and Marketing.

• Convert customer feedback and technical challenges into business strategies.

• Utilize CRM and commercial management systems to track opportunities and maintain pipeline visibility.

• Provide technical business updates and recommendations to support commercial decisions.

• Mentor, train, and guide commercial team members.

• Promote customer focus, continuous improvement, cross-functional collaboration, and business growth.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.

• Extensive experience in technical sales, product management, engineering, commercial leadership, or related fields.

• Proven track record in supporting customer growth through technical expertise and commercial collaboration.

• Experience in building products, doors, components, fenestration, millwork, construction products, or similar industries is preferred.

• Established ability to cultivate strong customer relationships and impact business decisions.

• Experience in leading cross-functional initiatives and achieving business results.

• Willingness to travel 60-70% of the time.

• In-depth technical knowledge of door systems, door components, glass systems, manufacturing processes, and construction applications.

• Strong commercial insight and understanding of sales processes and channel management.

• Outstanding presentation, training, and communication capabilities.

• Ability to translate technical information into customer-centric value propositions.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Capacity to influence without direct authority.

• Project management and cross-functional leadership abilities.

• Robust business and financial acumen.

• Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office applications.
