This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Identify and cultivate new opportunities for Momentive Electronic Materials in automotive sectors, including EV batteries, power electronics, ADAS, sensors, radar, cameras, ECUs, connectivity, lighting, and autonomous vehicles.
• Assist in driving business growth initiatives with automotive OEMs, Tier suppliers, electronic component manufacturers, and channel partners.
• Advocate for materials through technical presentations, product demonstrations, and active customer engagement.
• Assess and prioritize opportunities utilizing the DFV opportunity screening methodology.
• Act as a technical advisor on thermal management, environmental protection, reliability, vibration resistance, sealing, bonding, dispensing, electrical insulation, EMI shielding, and component protection.
• Collaborate with customer engineering teams to recommend Momentive solutions.
• Support material evaluations, qualification procedures, specification efforts, validation, and automotive reliability standards.
• Work together with Marketing, Product Management, ADE, and R&D to address customer needs and product development prospects.
• Manage assigned direct-sale automotive accounts while nurturing customer relationships.
• Provide technical expertise, training, and application support to Momentive's distribution network.
• Represent Momentive at trade shows, conferences, technical seminars, and customer events.
• Keep track of automotive industry trends and relay customer feedback and market insights.
• Maintain CRM opportunity, account, sales activity, and call report data in SFA.
• Organize samples, testing, qualification programs, and follow-up actions.
• Maintain opportunity pipelines and forecast data in Arkieva.
• Prepare opportunity reviews, account plans, business summaries, and technical documentation.
• Operate independently from a remote office setting and travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time.
• 5+ years of experience in technical sales, application engineering, business development, product management, or commercial roles within specialty materials, electronics, automotive, adhesives, sealants, silicones, thermal materials, or related fields.
• Experience collaborating with automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, electronics manufacturers, or other participants in the automotive value chain.
• Exceptional verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Capability to effectively convey technical concepts to both engineering and business audiences.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.
• Possession of a valid passport.
• Willingness and capability to work remotely and travel frequently.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or Chemistry (preferred).
• Familiarity with automotive electronics, EV battery systems, power electronics, ADAS technologies, sensors, or autonomous vehicle technologies (preferred).
• Understanding of silicone-based materials including RTVs, thermal interface materials, encapsulants, coatings, adhesives, sealants, and elastomers (preferred).
• Experience in supporting material qualification and specification at automotive OEMs or Tier suppliers (preferred).
• Knowledge of adhesive and sealant dispensing equipment and manufacturing processes (preferred).
• Proficiency with SalesForce.com, SAP, and Microsoft Office applications (preferred).
• Experience working within a global organization and managing programs with international stakeholders (preferred).
• Familiarity with automotive development processes, validation requirements, and quality systems (preferred).
• Must meet the legal working age as defined by local regulations.
