Technical Proposal Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Develop and finalize bids, estimations, and quotations tailored to customer specifications, requirements, and budgets.

• Sustain and enhance the balance between ABB units and customers within the designated area of responsibility.

• Analyze and assess project specifications along with end-user customer requirements.

• Deliver electrical solutions that encompass one-line electrical diagrams, schematic diagrams, layout and equipment drawings, equipment specifications, and project budget pricing for low- and medium-voltage applications.

• Utilize knowledge of protection and control relays alongside digital solutions for medium-voltage opportunities, collaborating with the local sales team.

• Craft competitive bids, estimates, and quotations by employing the optimal product mix and considering both technical and commercial aspects.

• Generate well-documented tenders that include full and accurate cost assessments.

• Oversee technical, financial, and, when necessary, project management components of bids, estimates, and quotations, including pricing and trading terms.

• Recognize potential risks in bids, quotations, estimates, and associated contract agreements.

• Provide information and/or engage in the risk review process following ABB policy.

• Gather and compile technical and cost data needed to prepare proposals.

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships to ensure a positive experience throughout the sales journey.

• Offer technical support to Sales Managers during customer technical discussions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in the Electrical Industry.

• Required knowledge or experience with SEL Relays and other Digital Relay Protection systems.

• Familiarity with medium voltage equipment, including breakers, current transformers, relays, etc.

• Previous experience in proposal generation or requisition engineering activities is preferred.

• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership abilities.

• Proficient with proposal development tools such as SFDC, Empower, Word/Excel, and PDF.

• Strong communication and negotiation skills, demonstrating autonomy, dynamism, and conflict resolution capabilities.

• A robust combination of power systems design expertise and communication skills.

• Ability to articulate complex concepts clearly to engineers, account managers, contractors, and channel partners.

• Self-motivated to learn all ABB products/solutions and their respective value propositions in Electrical Engineering.

• A self-starter who is accountable for results and capable of working independently without detailed guidance.

• Must possess valid work authorization to be employed in the US.
