Technical Product Support Specialist – Pumps and Plumbing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Provide assistance to customers via telephone in a dynamic call center setting.

• Recommend suitable products to meet customer requirements.

• Deliver post-sales support to enhance customer satisfaction.

• Address inquiries related to product applications and troubleshooting for Grainger offerings.

• Interact with external customers, including end-users, maintenance technicians, and contractors.

• Collaborate with internal customers, such as parts and sourcing specialists, sales teams, and store personnel.

• Offer technical product assistance over the phone while utilizing various computer programs and applications.

• Identify solutions, document customer interactions, navigate websites, perform web searches, and explore the Grainger online catalog.

• Adhere to established procedures and published schedules during peak customer demand periods.

• Develop and sustain technical knowledge through industry experience, formal vendor training, and hands-on learning.

• Collect and relay product feedback to product teams based on interactions with customers and field teams.

• Report directly to the Manager, TPS Customer Experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of pertinent job experience or practical field experience in installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing pumps and plumbing products and systems.

• Proficient in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of pumps and plumbing products and systems.

• Familiarity with centrifugal pumps and positive displacement pumps.

• Understanding of wastewater removal, chemical and food processing, as well as heating, ventilation, and air conditioning pumping systems.

• Knowledgeable in the installation, repair, and maintenance of pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures within commercial and residential buildings.

• Competent in computer usage.

• Capable of navigating multiple applications simultaneously using various screens or dual monitors.
