This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Plan and oversee the implementation of engineering projects for the Commercial Data Platform and Data Products.
• Develop, strategize, and execute software development initiatives while ensuring efficiency, scalability, and user-friendliness.
• Collect requirements and prioritize technical development with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Lead conversations with key decision-makers and stakeholders to formulate a comprehensive roadmap for the data platform.
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams utilizing Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, and sprint planning.
• Specify requirements and manage development processes, systems, and software infrastructure for data platforms and tools.
• Partner with laboratory and business stakeholders to clarify requirements, enhance workflows, and guide data platform and product definitions in accordance with HIPAA and HITECH regulations.
• Convert product requirements into Epics and Stories featuring well-defined user acceptance criteria.
• Monitor and drive development efforts using an issue tracking system like Jira.
• Facilitate communication between users and engineers to ensure that user needs are understood and addressed.
• Develop and implement a technical strategy along with integrated roadmaps for data products, pipelines, and tools.
• Align cross-functional milestones and deliverables across ongoing and future programs.
• Present a scalable and accessible vision for upcoming development initiatives.
• Guarantee full data integrity throughout the pipeline.
• A Bachelor’s degree in an analytical, technical, or scientific discipline.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a software development environment, preferably in biotechnology and NGS.
• Extensive expertise in identifying and prioritizing software features.
• Proven capability to lead complex trade-off decisions across functions, significantly enhancing organizational success and processes.
• Experience leading software development initiatives to comply with regulated market standards (FDA, CAP/CLIA), laboratory operations, medical affairs, or clinical study operations for diagnostics.
• Experience in creating solutions centered on multiomics, NGS, or proteomics is advantageous.
