This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Evaluate, edit, format, and execute quality control of intricate technical documents and deliverables.
• Check for grammar, spelling, punctuation, clarity, readability, consistency, organization, and technical terminology while preserving technical intent and accuracy.
• Conduct quality assessments for uniformity among narrative text, tables, figures, appendices, references, acronyms, terminology, units of measure, numbering, and accompanying data.
• Perform document-level QA/QC to detect inconsistencies, missing or conflicting information, formatting problems, and other potential errors prior to submission to clients.
• Address significant discrepancies in technical deliverables.
• Exercise editorial judgment in accordance with client requirements, project style guides, templates, formatting standards, and document control protocols.
• Collaborate with technical staff to integrate figures and supporting materials into final outputs.
• Assist in the electronic production, compilation, and delivery of documents.
• Oversee multiple documents and priorities while adhering to project timelines and submission deadlines.
• Work alongside environmental scientists, engineers, geologists, project managers, technical specialists, and other project personnel who support government environmental initiatives.
• Bachelor’s degree in English, technical communication, journalism, or a related field.
• Strong mastery of English grammar, punctuation, spelling, syntax, and professional writing standards.
• Capability to edit complex technical content for clarity and consistency without altering its technical essence, with a readiness to enhance these skills through structured on-the-job training.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, including track changes, search functionalities, tables, cross-references, and document navigation, with a willingness to further develop these skills through structured on-the-job training.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a systematic, repeatable approach to quality control.
• Ability to handle multiple assignments, contributors, review cycles, and deadlines effectively.
• Skill in collaborating with technical professionals and conveying editorial recommendations clearly and diplomatically.
• Consistent implementation of project procedures and document control standards.
• Must successfully clear a Public Trust background investigation.
