This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Establish the method by which OpenAI delivers intricate systems to Semiconductor clients.

• Take ownership of the complete technical delivery from RTL design, verification, to physical implementation workflows.

• Define, develop, launch, and promote customer solutions.

• Convert business outcomes into technical strategies, roadmaps, milestones, dependencies, and acceptance criteria.

• Manage daily operations involving OpenAI FDEs, Researchers, Customer Engineers, and client teams.

• Monitor progress, handle dependencies, make sequencing choices, and safeguard the critical path.

• Lead 0→1 prototypes through MVP and scaling phases.

• Collaborate with Semiconductor customer teams to outline workflows and success metrics.

• Design tools and integrations, translating requirements into actionable delivery plans.

• Direct production deployments to integrate with customer infrastructure, data systems, and engineering toolchains.

• Collaborate with Product and Research to align platform elements and research initiatives with deployment objectives.

• Codify solution patterns and evaluations, packaging field insights to enhance products and models.

• Identify value cases and ROI, encompassing impact hypotheses, baselines, and KPIs.

• Conduct pre- and post-deployment evaluations and report findings to executive sponsors.

• Assist in defining OpenAI's engagement approach with Semiconductor clients.

• Relay field insights to Product and Research to inform roadmaps and strategic priorities.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in customer-facing technical delivery leadership.

• Profound knowledge of Semiconductor workflows, including RTL design, verification, EDA tools, and physical implementation.

• Proven history of leading large, complex, high-stakes customer engagements requiring tight coordination and rapid decision-making, preferably involving AI.

• Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and simplify complex, dynamic tasks.

• Capability to navigate between system-level comprehension and execution-level intricacies.

• Proficiency in analyzing customer workflows and data, identifying constraints, designing architectures, and transforming ambiguous challenges into deliverable systems.

• Strategic mindset with the ability to identify trends across deployments and connect customer requirements to scalable, reusable solutions.

• Strong technical fluency and adept judgment in sequencing tasks.

• Skill to discuss technical specifics, critically assess architectures, and negotiate trade-offs.

• Experience in deploying AI/LLM systems, including solution patterns, integration fundamentals, and production challenges.

• Executive presence and capability to articulate technical trade-offs to business leaders.

• Willingness to work onsite with customers, often 25–50% of the time or more.

• Availability to travel 25–50% as needed.

• Option to work remotely from Austin, Texas.

• Must be able to operate in export-controlled environments when applicable.
