Technical Chief of Staff

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with the CTO to convert technical priorities, decisions, and objectives into actionable plans and defined responsibilities across teams.

• Facilitate communication between the CTO, engineering teams, and various stakeholders.

• Monitor engineering initiatives, track progress using tools like Jira, identify obstacles, and ensure accountability for deliverables.

• Prepare and manage technical documentation, decision logs, project updates, and execution materials.

• Lead engineering discussions, document decisions, clarify subsequent steps, and ensure commitments are adhered to.

• Recognize gaps, delays, dependencies, and communication issues, constructively challenging teams when necessary.

• Develop streamlined processes and reporting practices that enhance visibility while minimizing bureaucracy.

• Serve as a point of contact for operational and coordination issues within the CTO's organization.

• Strong technical background, preferably in software engineering, technical program management, engineering operations, or a similar position within a technology-focused organization.

• Solid understanding of web infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, software development, or related technical fields.

• Capability to comprehend complex technical discussions, identify critical decisions and their implications, and communicate them effectively to diverse audiences.

• Proven experience in coordinating technical teams, managing dependencies, and driving execution across multiple stakeholders.

• Exceptional written communication, documentation, organization, and follow-through skills.

• Confidence to address delays, clarify responsibilities, and hold individuals accountable without unnecessary tension.

• Strong judgment, discretion, maturity, and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.

• Ability to work independently while staying aligned with the CTO's technical vision and priorities.

• Valuable experience in cybersecurity, bot mitigation, fraud prevention, web application security, or internet infrastructure.

• Relevant experience in engineering project delivery, technical program management, or coordination of the software development lifecycle.

• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, GitLab, or similar engineering collaboration tools would be advantageous.

• Experience collaborating directly with senior technical leaders in rapidly growing technology companies would be beneficial.
