Technical Architect – MBSE, Digital Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the solution architecture, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and digital engineering for the USTRANSCOM Joint Transportation Management System (JTMS).

• Create and sustain operational, business, system, data, and integration architecture utilizing MBSE methodologies along with DoDAF/UAF frameworks.

• Develop and supervise SysML/UML system models that encapsulate requirements, workflows, interfaces, constraints, and comprehensive mission threads with complete traceability.

• Promote the integration of the digital thread, authoritative model repositories, configuration management, and model-driven decision-making support.

• Convert business, operational, and compliance needs into scalable solution architectures that facilitate COTS/ERP implementation and enterprise integration.

• Establish integration patterns, interface specifications, data exchanges, and interoperability needs across DoD, Service, Agency, and partner systems.

• Implement architecture governance, modeling standards, technical baselines, and design review processes.

• Present updates to senior government and military leadership.

• Collaborate with functional, engineering, cybersecurity, testing, and program teams to address gaps, risks, and inter-domain dependencies.

• Contribute to the development of technology roadmaps, transition planning, implementation strategies, and business process reengineering.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Secret clearance is required to commence employment.

• A Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

• Over 7 years of experience in enterprise/system/solution architecture for large-scale federal or DoD IT initiatives.

• More than 5 years of practical MBSE and/or Digital Engineering experience in intricate system-of-systems scenarios.

• Proficient in creating architecture products utilizing SysML, UML, and DoDAF/UAF or similar modeling frameworks.

• Experience with the automated generation of technical documentation, reports, and deliverables directly from system architecture models.

• Expertise in MBSE tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler (MagicDraw), Sparx EA, or equivalent tools.

• Familiarity with enterprise integration, APIs/interfaces, data architecture, and requirements traceability.

• Capability to align operational and business processes with system and solution architecture.

• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present technical briefings and architecture documentation for executive-level audiences.

• Must be able to obtain and retain a DoD Secret security clearance.
