Senior Ruby on Rails Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Design and enhance scalable Ruby services tailored for high-load, data-intensive systems.

• Take ownership of solutions from their implementation all the way through to production.

• Diagnose and resolve complex issues.

• Improve application and database performance.

• Contribute to engineering practices and technical decisions.

• Collaborate in a fully agile setting alongside senior engineers and product managers.

• Engage in the design of fault-tolerant, highly available, and optimized solutions.

• Monitor and enhance services that are live in production.

• Investigate and develop new technologies and tools.

• Work closely with product, infrastructure, and business teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in software development.

• Proficient Ruby programming abilities.

• Practical experience in developing data-intensive applications and tuning their performance.

• Experience in building complex solutions from the ground up.

• Strong SQL skills and a solid grasp of relational databases.

• Capability and eagerness to investigate intricate data issues, analyze large datasets, and conduct root-cause analysis.

• In-depth knowledge of data structures, object-oriented programming (OOP), and algorithms.

• Effective communication skills.

• Familiarity with ClickHouse.

• Experience with AI-powered developer tools and practical knowledge of integrating them into daily development workflows.

• Experience working with Kafka.

• Ability to implement algorithms that are efficient in both space and time, with an understanding of when to use each type.

• Willingness to learn additional programming languages, such as Golang and Scala.

• Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.

• Knowledge of cloud-native technologies, including Kubernetes, Helm, and Prometheus.
