Backend Engineer, Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain backend systems and data processing solutions utilizing Python.

• Engage daily with core processing systems and extensive geospatial imagery.

• Create and uphold dependable data processing workflows and pipelines.

• Manage, transform, and process geospatial data and imagery effectively.

• Utilize practical GIS expertise to facilitate geospatial data processing and analysis.

• Collaborate with photogrammetry and/or image-processing workflows.

• Partner with engineering and data team members to enhance processing solutions.

• Diagnose and resolve data-processing and backend issues, contributing to system reliability.

• Assist in ensuring the scalability and performance of systems that manage substantial geospatial data volumes.

• Play a role in the ongoing enhancement of engineering and data-processing methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive professional experience in backend engineering and/or data engineering.

• High level of proficiency in Python programming.

• Practical professional experience with GIS and geospatial data.

• Background in photogrammetry and/or image processing.

• Experience handling geospatial imagery.

• Proven track record in developing or maintaining data-processing systems or pipelines.

• Capability to work with large-scale datasets and processing workflows.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Competence in functioning effectively within a collaborative engineering environment.

• Availability to start on the project at the earliest opportunity.

• Nice to have: Significant hands-on experience with AWS.

• Nice to have: Familiarity with building or supporting cloud-based data-processing systems.

• Nice to have: Experience in processing large-scale geospatial imagery.

• Nice to have: Experience in optimizing data pipelines or processing systems for enhanced performance and scalability.
