Technical Application Specialist, Immunoassay, Clinical Chemistry

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Serve as the primary liaison for Abbott Core Laboratory clients and field staff, providing support for high-complexity instruments.

• Conduct onsite integration and training for instruments and assays.

• Resolve instrument and reagent issues either onsite or via phone troubleshooting.

• Record information within the complaint handling system.

• Engage regularly with customers both onsite and remotely.

• Join customer touchpoint teams focused on account management and satisfaction.

• Make decisions regarding reagent usage and product replacement that impact the annual supply budget for the US.

• Carry out customer entrance interviews to gauge needs and confirm expectations.

• Support customers in navigating regulatory and validation requirements.

• Tailor onsite training sessions for customers.

• Oversee integration processes to align with customer expectations and timelines.

• Facilitate exit interviews, present results of integration, and ensure customer satisfaction.

• Analyze issues, identify likely causes, rule out alternatives, and propose solutions.

• Maintain technical proficiency on assigned instruments, tools, and methodologies.

• Adhere to TAS work processes for integration, complaints, time management, activity tracking, and TOR documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.

• Over 3 years of pertinent work experience in a laboratory setting, field service, or technical support call center.

• Willingness and capability to travel up to 90% of the time.

• Candidates must currently reside in the San Francisco Bay Area or Salt Lake City, Utah region.

• Convenient access to a major metropolitan airport.

• Valid driver’s license required.

• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or clinical laboratory science.

• Preferred: Laboratory certification (e.g., MLS, MLT, etc.).

• Preferred: Over 5 years of relevant experience in a laboratory environment, field service, technical support call center, or direct work with Abbott Diagnostics products, assays, or instruments.
