Technical Advisor, Analytics and Implementation Research

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ghana.

📋 Description

• Utilize quantitative and geospatial techniques to pinpoint high-priority initiatives, geographic targeting possibilities, and efficiencies within health systems.

• Develop cost-effectiveness models to facilitate evidence-based decision-making for programs.

• Oversee analytical workstreams from start to finish, selecting suitable methodologies and determining the required analytical depth.

• Leverage extensive datasets, including GBD, DHS, national surveys, IHME datasets, and implementation cost data, to guide program design and prioritization.

• Partner with disease and geographic programs to collect inputs and confirm analytical assumptions.

• Assist in the design and execution of new pilot programs.

• Rigorously evaluate theories of change through evidence review, examination of assumptions, and assessment of causal pathways and counterfactuals.

• Convert modeling and analytical findings into presentations, memos, and briefing documents for senior leadership and philanthropic supporters.

• Create evidence-based materials for funder prioritization and discussions regarding funding.

• Collaborate with country teams and governmental partners to ensure that interventions are practical and aligned with national health systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Postgraduate degree in epidemiology, economics, or a related quantitative field.

• Over 7 years of experience applying quantitative methods to challenges in global health or development.

• Proficiency in cost-effectiveness analysis, impact evaluations, and mathematical modeling.

• Outstanding analytical and critical thinking abilities.

• Proficient in data management and statistical analysis using Stata, R, or SAS.

• Experience in cost-effectiveness modeling and evaluation design, including causal inference with observational data.

• Proven experience in assessing and reconciling data quality across extensive survey and administrative datasets in multi-country contexts.

• Strong understanding of health systems in low- and middle-income countries (LMIC), including data limitations, operational challenges, and the dynamics of government and partner ecosystems.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate research findings into policy recommendations.

• Capability to present complex quantitative results to donors, government stakeholders, and varied audiences.

• Demonstrated proficiency in AI tools for information synthesis and analytical outputs, with an ability to critically assess and refine AI-generated work.

• Competence to independently clarify ambiguous concepts into coherent visions and deliver outputs ready for donors and senior leadership.

• Commitment to working collaboratively with a remote, geographically diverse team across multiple time zones.

• Fluency in English.

• Experience in direct donor collaboration, drafting concept notes or proposals, conducting analytical quality checks, mentoring, or using geospatial methods is preferred or advantageous.
