This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead and implement comprehensive US GAAP research across essential areas, including ASC 606 (revenue recognition), ASC 842 (leases), ASC 718 (stock-based compensation), and ASC 340-40 (sales commissions).
• Compose and evaluate technical accounting position papers and memoranda, ensuring clear conclusions and audit-supportive rationales.
• Keep abreast of emerging standards (FASB and SEC) and analyze their relevance and impact on Armada's business framework.
• Assist the Director in assessing the accounting implications of new products, business strategies, and significant transactions such as M&A, equity financings, and international growth.
• Oversee the creation of audit-ready financial statement schedules, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation for interim and year-end external audit processes.
• Work collaboratively with external auditors on technical accounting and financial reporting issues, addressing auditor queries and managing PBC (prepared-by-client) deliverable lists.
• Develop process walkthroughs and establish control frameworks for future SOX compliance.
• Identify control weaknesses or deficiencies and lead remediation initiatives in conjunction with Internal Audit and the broader Finance team.
• Aid in the preparation of financial statement footnote disclosures in compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulations.
• Contribute to drafting, maintaining, and operationalizing corporate accounting policies to ensure uniform application throughout the global organization.
• Convert complex accounting standards into straightforward, practical guidance for non-accounting stakeholders.
• Spearhead the implementation of new accounting standards, collaborating with systems, operations, and FP&A teams to ensure seamless adoption.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, Legal, and Tax teams to evaluate accounting ramifications of new initiatives before execution, including innovative AI/edge product structures and international expansions.
• Collaborate with FP&A and Corporate Development to accurately reflect deal economics and business model adjustments in the financial statements.
• Establish trusted relationships with operational stakeholders to proactively identify and address accounting issues before they escalate into audit findings.
• Foster a culture of technical excellence, intellectual curiosity, and ongoing improvement within the technical accounting team.
• Provide training and support on US GAAP topics and corporate accounting policies to the wider Finance and Accounting organization.
• 6-8 years of progressive accounting experience, showcasing significant technical accounting expertise.
• Experience in public accounting is required; experience with Big 4 firms is highly preferred.
• Extensive, hands-on knowledge of US GAAP, particularly in ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 718, and ASC 340-40.
• Direct experience with public SEC filers.
• Proven experience in preparing or reviewing technical accounting memoranda and position papers.
• Experience in supporting external audits (including preparation of workpapers, audit liaison, and PBC management).
• Strong understanding of SOX compliance requirements, internal controls design, and testing.
• CPA license is mandatory.
