Tech Lead – Go, Software Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Cyprus, +4 more countries.

📋 Description

• Direct the technical vision of the team and take responsibility for significant architectural choices.

• Create and implement scalable backend services and APIs utilizing Go.

• Remain actively involved with production code and address intricate technical issues.

• Architect dependable, scalable, and maintainable distributed systems.

• Oversee code reviews and uphold high engineering standards within the team.

• Enhance system performance, reliability, observability, and scalability.

• Recognize technical risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities for enhancement.

• Mentor Software Engineers to foster their technical development.

• Contribute to boosting team productivity and enhancing engineering efficiency.

• Collaborate closely with Product, QA, and other engineering teams.

• Consistently refine development processes, engineering practices, and the quality of delivery.

• Leverage AI-powered development tools to expedite engineering workflows and elevate code quality.

• Lead a small cross-functional team comprising 3 Software Engineers and 2 QA Engineers.


⛳️ Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering.

• Extensive commercial proficiency in Go (Golang).

• Strong foundation in backend and software engineering.

• Experience in designing scalable architectures and distributed systems.

• Comprehensive understanding of microservices architecture and asynchronous communication patterns.

• Solid experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, and REST APIs.

• Proficient with message brokers like RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar technologies.

• Familiarity with Docker and CI/CD pipelines.

• Proven experience in leading engineers and guiding technical and architectural decisions.

• Strong hands-on approach — comfortable staying close to the code and contributing to production development.

• Strong grasp of engineering best practices, code quality, testing, and system reliability.

• Experience using AI development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar in everyday development.

• Nice to have: Experience with Kubernetes and GitOps.

• Nice to have: Experience in building high-load or high-availability systems.

• Nice to have: Experience with event-driven architectures.

• Nice to have: Experience in Web3, blockchain, fintech, or other transaction-heavy products.

• Nice to have: Experience integrating LLM APIs or AI capabilities into production products.

• Nice to have: Familiarity with TypeScript / Node.js or other backend technologies.
