Tech Lead / Architect – LAMP, PHP, Laravel, AWS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, assess, and propose technical architectures for ERP modules, integrations, and platform advancements.

• Create essential production components through hands-on development.

• Troubleshoot intricate production challenges.

• Spearhead performance profiling and optimization efforts.

• Manage production deployments, environment configurations, and release preparedness across development, staging, and production environments.

• Establish engineering standards encompassing SOLID, DRY, design patterns, PHPUnit test coverage, and code quality thresholds.

• Collaborate with infrastructure and DevOps teams on CI/CD, containerization, and AWS hosting solutions.

• Implement and operationalize SAST and DAST within CI/CD pipelines.

• Triage and resolve security vulnerabilities.

• Perform vulnerability evaluations and address issues in live production systems.

• Conduct security-first code reviews and threat modeling for new features and integrations.

⛳️ Requirements

• 10–15 years of relevant experience.

• Must reside in the USA.

• Capability to work in the UK time zone.

• Extensive experience with PHP versions 5.x–8.x, OOP principles, SOLID, DRY, and design patterns.

• Proficiency in Core PHP and Laravel versions 10.x–13.x.

• Experience in REST API design.

• Skilled in MySQL schema design, indexing, query optimization, and replication/backup strategies.

• Familiarity with Linux (Ubuntu), Docker, and tuning Nginx/Apache web servers.

• Knowledge of AWS services including EC2, S3, Secrets Manager, IAM, VPC, and associated security groups.

• Experience with Jenkins and GitHub Actions.

• Proficient in PHPUnit and unit/integration/API testing methodologies.

• Knowledge of debugging and profiling tools.

• Familiar with templating engines such as Blade, Smarty, or Twig.

• Proficient in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.

• Understanding of SQL injection, DDoS, and XSS vulnerabilities.

• Experience with implementing SAST and DAST in CI/CD pipelines.

• Background in vulnerability assessment and remediation.

• Conduct security-first code reviews and threat modeling.

• Exposure to SOC 2 and GDPR compliance frameworks.
