Tech Lead, Android Core Product

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of significant features within the Android application and ensure the delivery of high-quality functionalities in close partnership with the design team.

• Influence the future direction of the Android team.

• Manage, maintain, and enhance reliability metrics for essential features.

• Engage in discussions with Product, Design, and Engineering teams.

• Review pull requests and provide support to fellow team members.

• Address critical issues and navigate unexpected challenges.

• Oversee feature releases and supply nightly builds for the QA team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in software engineering.

• Knowledge of Android components.

• Experience in building or contributing to at least one Android application.

• Strong intuition for product design and user empathy.

• A passion for advancing the boundaries of Android UI/UX.

• An understanding of the significance of testing and strategies for writing tests.

• A self-motivated approach to enhancing the app and codebase beyond the specifications.

• Extensive experience with Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android Animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit tests.

• Exceptional communication abilities.

• A user-centric problem-solving mindset.

• A proactive attitude driven by continuous feedback from leadership.

• Experience in building, maintaining, or otherwise contributing to open-source Android projects is a plus.

• Familiarity with iOS, Web, or NodeJS is a bonus.
