This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the Portfolio Management team in effectively communicating and collaborating with both internal and external clients.
• Act as the main contact for borrowers holding existing small business and commercial loans that are in regular servicing status.
• Ensure thorough handling of customer requests through meticulous fact-checking, collection and analysis of borrower financial documents, and assessment of loan-file completeness.
• Actively track the portfolio to pinpoint credit risks, suggest corrective measures and possible internal risk-rating adjustments, as well as uncover new revenue prospects.
• Carry out responsibilities in accordance with regulatory guidelines, SBA standard operating procedures, and Bank loan policies.
• Collaborate with portfolio, workout, lending, legal, and management teams to oversee the commercial and SBA loan portfolio.
• Identify, monitor, and manage troubled credits; enforce loan and credit documentation.
• Assist in negotiating workout solutions, securing paydowns, additional collateral and guarantors, exiting credit, pursuing collections, and recommending changes to risk ratings, accrual status, charge-downs, charge-offs, retention, workouts, and recoveries.
• Supervise the SBA Portfolio Managers, including recruitment, mentorship, performance evaluations, addressing inquiries, and acting as a liaison between management and support staff.
• Establish and monitor KPIs/KRIs; promote training, cross-training, teamwork, and continuous learning opportunities.
• Maintain existing credit relationships, ensuring credit quality, appropriate risk ratings, complete credit files, and compliance with policies and regulatory standards.
• Conduct and document quarterly loan evaluations for loans in regular servicing status.
• Prepare internal documentation that records significant loan changes.
• Structure and negotiate loan agreements; manage and resolve workout and distressed credit scenarios to enhance recovery and minimize risk.
• Oversee loan presentations and quarterly reviews within the credit department for the chief credit officer and/or loan committee.
• Prepare documentation for loan committee reviews with the chief credit officer.
• Address customer, credit, and servicing requests in line with SBA SOP 50 57 (4) and Bank loan policies.
• Identify cross-selling opportunities and promote the bank's lending and deposit products.
• Review daily delinquency reports and take necessary actions to collect overdue payments.
• Document customer interactions in designated record-keeping systems.
• Conduct compliance, quality, covenant, and exception monitoring reviews of current loans.
• Monitor delinquent real-estate tax reports and loan insurance requirements, determining the necessity of force-placed insurance.
• Review documentation from the SBA and Senior Portfolio Manager and assist with modifications prior to execution.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 lbs.
• Proficiency in English literacy.
• Capability to sit for extended periods, twist, bend, walk, use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, talk, or hear.
• Specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent from a four-year college or technical institution; or four years of relevant experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.
• At least 6 years of relevant portfolio management experience.
• Strong analytical abilities, including the capacity to read and evaluate individual and company financial statements, cash flow, industry trends, competition, and forecasts.
• Solid understanding of basic banking and commercial lending products, with the ability to align solutions with borrower needs.
• Exceptional process management and improvement capabilities.
• Proficiency in setting and monitoring KPIs and KRIs.
