Team Lead, Medical Affairs Scientist, Field Vaccines

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Provide leadership in both disciplinary and functional capacities for the national Medical Affairs Scientist Field Vaccines team.

• Manage the processes of recruitment, onboarding, goal setting, performance management, and succession planning.

• Collaborate on the Medical Plan development alongside the Senior Medical Director.

• Ensure the execution of the medical strategy is prioritized, consistent, and measurable.

• Convert the medical strategy into team objectives as well as regional and national activities.

• Mentor, coach, and offer constructive feedback to actively promote team member development.

• Prioritize and assign tasks, manage time, and allocate resources effectively.

• Plan, oversee, and monitor both team and project budgets.

• Utilize medical and scientific insights from the field to enhance the Medical Plan, evidence strategy, and vaccine strategies.

• Lead strategically significant national medical projects and workstreams.

• Establish and nurture relationships with external experts in infectious diseases and vaccinology, as well as institutions, professional societies, and research groups.

• Ensure timely, precise, and balanced communication of medical and scientific information.

• Strategically plan and maintain high standards for advisory boards, roundtables, congress symposia, and other scientific formats.

• Encourage the documentation of relevant insights in OneMed and the utilization of centralized knowledge pools.

• Promote professional exchange and advocate for product-independent expertise.

• Collaborate closely with teams in Medical, Commercial, Market Access/Health & Value, Clinical Development, Regulatory, Legal, Compliance, Pharmacovigilance, and People Experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• A university degree in human medicine, veterinary medicine, pharmacy, or natural sciences (qualified under Section 75 of the German Medicines Act), preferably with a doctoral degree.

• Several years of relevant experience in Medical Affairs or the pharmaceutical industry, particularly with extensive exposure to vaccines or infectious diseases.

• Proven experience in disciplinary or comparable functional leadership, employee development, and team motivation.

• Strong medical and pharmaceutical knowledge, including scientific methodology, clinical study interpretation, and experience in developing Medical Plans.

• Fluency in German at C1 level or higher, along with strong proficiency in English.

• Class B driver's license.

• Exceptional skills in project, portfolio, resource, and budget management.

• Experience in matrix organizations and cross-functional collaboration.

• Excellent presentation, communication, facilitation, coaching, and influencing abilities.

• Familiarity with digital communication and collaboration tools, as well as hybrid working methodologies.

• In-depth knowledge of AI and its applications in enhancing processes and management tasks.

• Commitment to adhering to Medical Compliance and pharmacovigilance standards.
