This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver services to eligible students with visual impairments in accordance with their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
• Collaborate with teams that support students in a virtual academic setting.
• Obtain necessary licensure in multiple states to assist students across various schools.
• Communicate effectively with parents and teachers to develop schedules that promote student attendance and engagement.
• Create progress reports and state-specific documentation for special education.
• Ensure that accommodations and modifications, such as assistive technology, supplemental curriculum, and accessible text, are readily available.
• Maintain compliance with regulations set by the state, school, and company.
• Instruct students, families, and teachers on effective communication strategies and technologies.
• Act as the Teacher of Record for the assigned caseload.
• Maintain comprehensive files and records, including progress reports, activity logs, treatment plans, and reports.
• Gather data and work samples to track progress toward IEP goals and objectives.
• Document interactions with parents and student interventions.
• Provide engaging educational experiences and tailor learning to individual needs.
• Build positive relationships with families and communicate promptly with students and learning coaches/parents.
• Participate in meetings, workshops, and seminars.
• Develop and nurture positive relationships with students, caregivers, and school staff.
• Be accessible to students, caregivers, and staff during designated work hours.
• Operate from a professional home office that meets video and audio requirements.
• No formal supervisory responsibilities are included.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a public school setting as a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI).
• State-specific educator license in the area of Visual Impairments or a related field.
• Ability to work independently, with availability during standard school hours for at least 20 hours per week.
• Capacity to maintain a distraction-free professional home office during work hours, typically from 9 AM to 5 PM as defined by the school and time zone.
• Experience teaching in an online or virtual environment.
• Strong knowledge of assistive technology for individuals with visual impairments.
• Solid understanding of content and subject matter.
• Ability to support and guide both adults and students.
• Open to receiving regular coaching from administrators.
• Capable of embracing change and adapting to ensure excellent student outcomes.
• Skills in creating and delivering staff development programs.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Quick learner who can adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
• Proficient in MS365.
• Must be able to pass the required background check.
• Available Monday through Friday between 8 AM and 5 PM.
• Must reside in one of the 50 states or Washington, D.C.
• Independent Consultant position (1099).
• Work from a professional home office environment.
