This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Act as the primary contact and trusted advisor for a designated client portfolio, overseeing communications, inquiries, and expectations related to tax strategy and planning projects.
• Facilitate quarterly client meetings and calls to review financial data, pinpoint tax-saving opportunities, and deliver complex planning recommendations in a clear and concise manner to non-financial audiences.
• Collaborate with clients to grasp their business objectives, significant transactions, investment aspirations, and family wealth structures, converting these insights into practical tax strategies.
• Perform comprehensive research on technical tax issues, encompassing federal and multi-state concerns, and document findings in formal memoranda.
• Work in conjunction with clients and team members to develop and implement intricate tax planning strategies, including entity restructuring, disposition analysis, transaction planning, and year-end tax projections.
• Address client communications thoroughly and promptly through designated channels.
• Maintain CRM platforms with current client information, proactively overseeing tasks and project deadlines.
• Prepare and revise deliverable documentation for client reference and review.
• Create systems and processes aimed at enhancing client experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in tax accounting, tax consulting, or tax planning, with a focus on high-net-worth individuals and/or entrepreneurial businesses.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Advanced qualifications such as EA or CPA in progress are advantageous; completion is preferred.
• Familiarity with efficiency, workflow, communication, and tax preparation software, including G-Suite, Slack, CRM platforms, CS Planner, and UltraTax.
• Knowledge of corporate and personal tax planning strategies.
• Ability to cultivate and sustain trust-based client relationships while managing expectations.
• Capability to manage complex engagements, organize client documentation, track milestones, and meet company-wide deadlines.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Exceptional public speaking and written communication skills.
• Superior analytical skills to interpret complex fact patterns and provide actionable recommendations.
• Ability to handle high-net-worth individual and business financial data with confidentiality and integrity.
